Khalid Albaih is a Sudanese political cartoonist and human rights advocate best known for his work under the name Khartoon. His cartoons and writings have been exhibited and published internationally, and he was featured in The Guardian documentary The Story of Civil Rights Is Unfinished (2016). He is the author of Khartoon! and co-editor of Sudan Retold, a collaborative art book documenting Sudan’s history through the work of 31 artists. Albaih’s practice extends to installations and video works exploring displacement and social justice, presented at venues including Documenta 15, Mathaf (Qatar), and Brescia Musei. In 2024, he began hosting Alhasil Shino? on AJ+. He is also editor-in-chief of KhartoonMag.com and creator of the award-winning Doha Fashion Fridays, amplifying marginalized voices through art and media.
