Maria Kalantzopoulou is a historian, poet, musician, researcher, teacher, and political activist. She holds a PhD in History and Civilizations from the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (EHESS), Paris. She has published poetry books in France and Greece, takes part in literary events, and performs in concerts of classical and world music. She has been involved in political movements in Greece and within the Greek diaspora, advocating for the causes of youth, students, workers, women’s and gender rights, migrants, and anti-racism. She is also engaged in peoples’ struggles for peace, justice and democracy, particularly in the contexts of Latin America and Sudan.
