
Raja Chamekh is a feminist political activist and human rights defender.
She is a member of the Executive Board of the CRLDHT (Committee for the Respect of Liberties and Human Rights in Tunisia) and a member of the FTCR (Federation of Tunisians for Citizenship on Both Sides of the Mediterranean).
She is also a member of the Tunisian Association of Democratic Women (ATFD).
Deeply engaged in struggles for women’s rights, gender justice, and individual freedoms, she is a member of the “Women’s Rights, Gender Justice and Individual Freedoms” working group within the EuroMed Rights network. Her activism follows an intersectional approach, linking feminism, human rights, democratic struggles, and transnational solidarity, with a sustained commitment to opposing authoritarianism, gender-based violence, and all forms of discrimination.
Raja is among the artists who generously helped steward On Memory and Witness by mobilizing support through her connections with Tunisian NGOs.
