Of Egyptian-Sudanese heritage, born in Lebanon, Samira Ibrahim is a French journalist at the intersection of francophone and Arabophone cultures. She moved to Paris at the age of five and began her media career at Canal+ Horizons, then at RFI. She quickly made her mark in radio, television, and news reporting, notably at Reuters, where she produced multilingual stories on a wide range of topics, including coverage of the Paris Fashion Weeks.
She went on to build her career on major Arab television networks, becoming a familiar face in the Maghreb and the Middle East. She hosted the current affairs program “Envoyé Spécial Maghreb” on Tunisia’s Nessma TV for several years, as well as the flagship talk show “Zahret El Khaleej” in prime time on Abu Dhabi TV. She also fronted the programs “Initiatives Africa” and “Business Africa,” broadcast across francophone African countries and on France Ô.
In July 2011, she joined France Télévisions to host the live, prime-time program “Codes de la route: à vous de jouer” on France 2, followed by the investigative magazine “Investigations.” In 2019, she joined the Altice group as the host of the documentary program “Grands Documents” on RMC Story.
On the radio, she presents the daily news magazine “L’Air du temps” on Radio Monte Carlo Doualiya (France Médias Monde), while also conducting training sessions in media, public speaking, and information literacy for executives in leading CAC 40 companies.
Beyond journalism, Samira Ibrahim is deeply committed to humanitarian causes, particularly across the African continent, with a strong focus on Sudan. In April 2024, she was selected to moderate the International Humanitarian Conference for Sudan and Neighboring Countries, held in Paris and organized by France, Germany, and the European Union. A year earlier, she led a masterclass for young Sudanese women in Khartoum, hosted by the French Embassy.
As an ambassador for AMREF, Africa’s leading public health NGO, and patron of “La Flamme Marie Claire,” which supports girls’ education, Samira Ibrahim embodies a form of journalism rooted in engagement, transmission, and social impact.
